“Painting on location the plein air artist has an opportunity to experience much more than just what is seen. There is additional sensory information to study and interpret: radiating heat from a city sidewalk; the scent of pine wafting from the forest floor. You are charged with incorporating these intangible elements into your work. Each painting is a lesson to learn; to explore and study a unique sense of place.”
