ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Intermediate and advanced artists are invited to study with nationally acclaimed artist Zufar Bikbov during this two-day workshop in Norfolk, Virginia. Zufar is a Watertown, Connecticut artist who began his artistic career in his homeland of Russia and honed his talent while traveling and painting in the United States. He is a master at composition and color and paints in the impressionistic style.
Zufar is fresh from participating in 2021 Plein Air Easton where he won Best Maritime Painting and Quick Draw Honorable Mention Awards. These artistic honors are the latest recognition of Zufar’s talent and artistic accomplishments bestowed during respected plein air competitions and solo shows. His works are widely present in private collections in the United States – from New England to California – and in the UK, Spain, and Russia. During this workshop students will learn how to efficiently approach any landscape with predictable great results. Using Zufar’s Four-Step approach, the workshop teaches a relatively easy to follow system and specifics of performance that are applicable to outdoor and studio settings. Intermediate and advanced level students working with oils will learn Zufar’s approach to 1. Sketch 2. Color Study 3. Final Composition and 4. Master Painting.
