Previously, the Plein Air Art Event raised over $50,000 for Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (“CHKD”).  The event attracted 20 of the top plein air artists on the East coast to create paintings of our Chesapeake Bay area to help the Circle raise money for the kids.  Hundreds of beautiful original artworks were painted during the event, capturing the beauty of the area, then sold during an art show and live auction.  The week kicked off with live tv appearance on "Coast Live," the local CBS affiliate, Channel 3.  Doug Clarke did a live painting of a CHKD volunteer model throughout the show.  You can watch the clip here.

In 2019, Coastal VA Plein Air became a non-profit organization.  Coastal VA Plein Air partnered with the Ocean View Business Association and NorfolkArts, raising $50,000  for a public sculpture to be commissioned in Ocean View, Norfolk.  The site selection and search for sculptor will begin in the Fall of 2019.
