Coastal VA Plein Air Art Festival Postponed Until April 14-18, 2021

March 16, 2020
Dear Friends of Coastal VA Plein Air:
It is with great sadness that are postponing the 2020 Coastal VA Plein Air Art Festival due to the Corona Virus disaster.  The latest recommendation from our governor is to cancel events with more than fifty people for a minimum of eight weeks.  We feel a responsibility to do our part by postponing our event until next year in an effort to keep people healthy and our health care system from being overwhelmed.

We have rescheduled the event to take place on April 14-18, 2021.  We hope you will plan to join us.  It is very exciting that our first public sculpture is scheduled to be installed in April 2021 in Ocean View Park during our Coastal VA Plein Air event.  Sculptor Eileen Gay is creating a mosaic sculpture to directly engage visitors, instill passion and excitement, and highlight Ocean View’s uniqueness, natural beauty, and great beaches. Coastal VA Plein Air raised half of the funds for this public art installation, with the help of matching funds from NorfolkArts.

Coastal VA Plein Air will proceed with its plans to fund a summer arts camp for the Ocean View Recreation Center this summer (2020).  We will be seeking additional sponsors and donors to help us with this project and for the 2021 Coastal VA Plein Air festival.  Donations are gratefully accepted and can be made at http://coastalvapleinair.com/index.php/join-us/.  All donations are tax deductible.
We thank you for your support and generosity over the years.
